REQUIREMENTS FOR DEGREES
University Requirements
for an Associate Degree
1. Completion of at
least 64 semester hours of credit. The final 16 credits must be taken
at this University with a minimum of 8 hours in the major. (Remedial and
Pre-College courses may not be applied to meeting graduation
requirements.) A minimum quality point average of “C” (2.00) with the
GPA of the core being a minimum of 2.25. Students must earn at least a
“C” in each of these courses: Freshman Composition I and II (ENGL119 and
ENGL120),“God and Human Life” (RELB113) and all cognates. If they earn
less than a “C” in either course, they must repeat it until they raise
their grade to at least a “C”. Additional requirements are listed in the
University Bulletin.

Requirements for a Bachelor’s degree
All bachelor’s degrees
require a minimum of 128 semester hours composed of: general education
requirements (45-51 hours); major requirements; and electives, as
necessary with a minimum cumulative average of “C” (2.00) as well as the
GPA for the major (inclusive of cognates) being 2.50 and the minor 2.25. The final 32 credits
must be taken at this University with a minimum of 20 in the upper
division courses distributed in the major and minor. Credit hours
earned in Remedial or Pre-College courses are institutional credit; they
are not applicable to credit hours required for baccalaureate or
associate degrees.
Students must earn at
least a “C” in each of these courses: Freshman Composition I and II
(ENGL119 and ENGL120),“God and Human Life” (RELB113) and all cognates.
If they earn less than a “C” in these courses, they must repeat it until
they raise their grade to at least a “C”. In addition, students who
seek the Bachelor of Arts degree must complete a minimum of 6 semester
hours of a single foreign language at the college level. None of these
hours can be applied toward satisfying the humanities requirement
