REGISTRATION FACTS AND INFORMATION

Class Roster

Students should ensure that they are on the class list for each class, as generated from the registration system.  This will assist in the generation of their permit and subsequent entry of a grade by the instructor.

Course Prerequisites

A student’s registration is bound by course prerequisites. To take subsequent courses in a department, all prerequisite courses (as listed in the University Bulletin) must be met.

Credit Limits

The credit limit per semester is sixteen (16). Students who are on the Honour Roll or  Dean’s List have the courtesy of an increased credit limit.  Those with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 - 3.49 are granted 17 credits and those with 3.50 - 4.00 are granted 18 credits per semester.  Those who are on academic probation are limited to 10 credits per semester.  In the summer, the credit limit is 12 (inclusive of both sessions), with a maximum of 9 in any one session.  Students who are on the honour roll or dean’s list may, by petition, be granted the additional credit or two as stipulated by the cumulative GPA.

Full-Time Status

Students are considered to be enrolled full time if during each semester, they are registered for a minimum of 12 credits.

Registration Blocks/Holds

Students will be subject to holds in registration if they have not been financially cleared from the previous semester, have not turned in travel documents (international students only), have outdated medicals or are on suspension – whether academic or citizenship.
