Position: Senior Instructional Technologist

 

 

Qualifications and Experience Required:

 

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Technology, Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant work experience in an educational institution or training setting.

 

Job Summary  

Assist in driving the distance education agenda by working with faculty on the design and development of instructional content that will be used in traditional on-campus courses, blended, and on-line courses. The successful candidate will be required to:

 

  1. Oversee the department instructional technology operations and provide technical leadership in the production and presentation of technology services and systems employed for instruction, presentations and special events.
  2. Oversee training programs and provide training in specialty areas; design and oversee systems and equipment used in technology enhanced classrooms.
  3. Works with a wide range of multimedia software including audio, video, web, animation, and photo to develop materials for online, hybrid, and face to face courses.
  4. Develops instructional web and media-based interactive learning objects (tutorials, demos, training modules)
  5. Provide leadership for video conferencing technology and applications and for interfacing with information technology systems, such as networking and telecommunications, on the delivery and evaluation of instructional technology and/or media support services.
  6. Direct the technical and operational documentation requirements for campus instructional technology.
  7. Conducts research to identify potential applications for new and emerging instructional technologies

 

Required Skills or Competencies:

  • Intermediate to advanced skill in the use of the Blackboard Course Management System
  • Excellent working knowledge of the Aeorion Learning Management System or similar systems such as Moodle
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in using web and media based technologies for education such as but not limited to Camtasia, Google docs, Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of online course development standards and procedures and educational applications of social media
