Position: Registered Nurse



Qualifications and Experience Required:


  • BSc in Nursing and hold current license from the Nursing Council of Jamaica and current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have at least two years’ experience working in a clinical setting.
  • Skills in basic computing will be necessary for this position.


Job Summary  

This position exists in the Department of Health and Wellness which is located on the Main Campus in Mandeville. The Nurse will report to the Director of Health and Wellness. The incumbent will be expected to:


  • Deliver nursing care to a population comprising, students, employees and community members.
  • Conduct patient assessment prior to physician’s evaluation;
  • Administer immunizations to students; remove sutures and do wound care;
  • Carry out treatments prescribed by the physician and when necessary accompany students   who are being transported via the ambulance to the hospital.
  • Enter student medical reports in a data base.

  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, integrity, dependability, sound judgement, teambuilding and resourcefulness to establish and maintain collaborative, positive, and effective working relationships with clients and colleagues;
  • Be able to work alone when necessary and make sound and ethical decisions in accordance with the nursing profession.
