Position: Engineer, Department of Mathematics and Engineering

Qualifications and Experience Required:

 

  • A minimum BSc in Electronics or Electronic Control
  • Master’s degree in an appropriate field of study related to the department
  • Qualifications in management/leadership and educational administration are desirables
  • At least three years’ experience in an academic sector

 

 

Job Summary  

 

To provide quality learning opportunities that assist students in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations on a semester basis. The successful candidate will be required to:

 

  • Plan and implement innovative instructional strategies for recommended credit load per semester.
  • Prepare and administer examinations and ensure that the prescribed content is covered in a timely manner.
  • Teach classes using innovative and effective strategies for adult learners
  • Participate in programme assessment and development within the Department.
  • Participate in curricula and course development, student evaluation and to play active roles in the research
  • agenda and the strategic direction of the department

 

 

Required Skills or Competencies:

 

  • Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to engage in community partnership and programme development
  • Capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, establish priorities, and organize work to meet deadlines;
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, integrity, dependability, sound judgement, teambuilding and resourcefulness to establish and maintain collaborative, positive, and effective working relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Actively concerned for students’ welfare whether academically, spiritually or socially, and feel responsible to assist them in the pursuit of worthy goals.
  • Possesses skills in the use of the computer, distance education modalities and research
  • Be knowledgeable of and committed to the philosophy, principles and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in education and give witness to these values in his/her professional and Christian life.
