Director of Research
Education and Experience
Candidates should possess a Ph.D. degree in any related field and should have at least five (5) years’ experience in conducting basic or applied research. Administrative experience is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The person selected for this position will:
- Develop and advance the research agenda of the University.
- Individually, or in collaboration, write and submit proposals for project funding.
- Direct the development and regular review of policies and procedures that govern the research programme of the University.
- Undertake continuing appraisal of the research activities of the University focusing on the human, financial and physical resources required to develop and sustain a meaningful and relevant research programme.
- Encourage networking, cooperative and inter-disciplinary research among faculty while recognizing and promoting individual initiatives and engagement.
Assistant VP for Technology / Distance Education (Curriculum)
Education and Experience
Candidates should possess at least a Master’s degree (doctoral degree strongly preferred) In distance education, instructional technology, adult/continuing education, educational leadership or a related field. A minimum of 6 years’ experience in an academic environment is required and should have working knowledge of modern distance educational technologies with an understanding of outcome assessment and continuous quality improvement.
Job Summary
This position carries administrative responsibility for the Distance Education Curriculum and Technology Office, which oversees the University’s online academic programmes. This position requires creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and a clear understanding of the purpose and function of online programmes within the comprehensive curriculum; strategic curriculum planning and administration of online education programmes, including experience overseeing market research and utilization of varied instructional methodologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
The person selected for this position will:
- Develop effective plans for the growth and of online/ distance education programmes.
- Provide consultation to the colleges for the design, development, implementation, integration of innovative technology, communication of best practices for online teaching and support for distance learning students; and evaluation of online programmes and initiatives.
- Develop and implement, in concert with programmes based in colleges, a university wide online education marketing strategy.
- Collaborate with departmental faculty and external agencies to identify and provide quality online education opportunities.
- Integrate distance education into the academic processes of the institution, facilitate the development of policies, procedures, academic resources, student and faculty services, and an appropriate technical infrastructure.
- Identify emerging trends and conduct needs analyses that offer opportunities for new programming and service to new clientele.
Associate/Assistant Professor of Accounts
Education and Experience
Candidates should preferably possess a doctoral degree in Accounts, Business Administration or a related field or a master’s degree and ACCA certified up to at least Level 3. Substantial experience teaching at the university level is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be expected to have published papers in referee journals; develop and deliver existing and new courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The individual will be expected to take active roles in the research agenda of the department and be prepared to assist junior staff members in honing their research skills. He or she will be expected to lecture courses in:
- Advanced Accounting
- Performance Accounting
- Cost Accounting
- Accounting Business Analysis
- Intermediate Accounting II
Assistant Professor/ Instructor (Part-Time)
Candidates should possess an MBA degree or a master’s degree in a related field and have substantial experience teaching at the university level. The incumbent will be expected to lecture the following courses at the undergraduate level.
- Business Calculus I
- Business Calculus II
