Welcome to the Department of Humanities at Northern Caribbean University, Mandeville, Jamaica! Whether you choose to study English, ESL, Literatures in English, History, French, or Spanish with us, we are committed to providing state of the art Christ-centred education. A team of highly qualified, dedicated and caring lecturers will facilitate your acquiring the highest level of knowledge as you prepare for the world of work. – The lecturers exemplify the core values of the university: NCU CARES - Christ-centredness, Affirmation, Respect, Excellence and Stewardship. The Department of Humanities offers accredited degree programmes to suit your professional needs locally, regionally and internationally. Choose from 5 Bachelor of Arts degrees, 2 Associate degrees and 5 minors. You can pursue a baccalaureate degree in:

Study Opportunity: Exchange Programme in Germany
Each year, we host a postgraduate student from Phillips University, Marburg in Germany. In exchange an undergraduate student studying Linguistics has the opportunity to spend a semester in Germany.
Overseas Work Opportunity
Since 2002, our students have participated in the language assistantship programme (Postes d’assistants), of the Government of France, where they spend a year teaching English language in either a primary or a high school.
Local Professional Partnerships
Our students receive practical experience in the various disciplines we teach through participation in seminars and conferences.

All our programmes are accredited by the Adventist Accrediting Association (AAA). In addition, the Associate and Bachelor of Arts degrees in English are accredited by the University Council of Jamaica (UCJ).
