1999
  • 1st Biology graduates accepted to the University of the West Indies School of Medicine
  • 1st Science student sponsored for summer internship by the Loma Linda University         Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and the NCU California Alumni Charter to study at Loma Linda. It is now an annual activity.
  • Office of University Development established Corporate Alliance developed with Alcan, Scotia Bank, Student Loan Bureau, Barham Supplies, Jamaica Building Society, Friends of NCU, Digicel
  • Annual scholarships from these entities total over two million dollars
  • ADVANCE launched (Academic Development & Viable Approaches to Nurturing Collegiate Endeavour. This programme targets academically qualified students to participate in a one-week seminar at NCU that will expose the university to an array of academic possibilities as they contemplate higher education.
  • Introduction of scholarships to top graduates of SDA High Schools
  • Building of Victor Dixon High School

2000
  • First Annual Police Prayer Service for Area 3 officers - by the university church
  • NCU and NW Manchester Principals' Association host an Education Summit for Colleges in Central Jamaica
  • NCU, through the Department of Education, participated in the Government's Five-year Development Plan for Education
  • Gymnatorium partially completed and used for commencement
  • Formal Building Master Plan developed for the entire campus
  • Major renovations and refurbishing to offices
  • Office of University Development Established
  • Installation of stand-by generator
  • Start of the Ph.D. in education programme

  • Grace Kitchens - 1st official visit to tape programmes showcasing vegetarian cooking

  • University Services and Special Events sector introduced
  • Conversion of duplex for married students to classrooms
