The Department of Freshman Advisement, Recruitment and Retention (FARR) is the main new student recruitment organ of Northern Caribbean University (NCU).  It also has primary responsibilities to organize and facilitate the effective orientation and advising of new, undergraduate students during their first year at NCU.  One measure of the success of its recruitment and advising activities is the rate of retention of new students after their first year.

The Department of Freshman Advisement, Recruitment and Retention is to develop and implement strategies to recruit qualified students  with high moral values and attitudes and  provide personalized attention to new students helping them to make effective academic choices  and experience satisfaction at NCU, thereby increasing the level of new student retention within the university.
