1. Where is the Campus Safety Department?
The Campus Safety Department is located to the left of the main gate to the campus.
2. If there is a security concern, where should I take my concern?
The Campus Safety Department has a director and four supervisors. All security matters should be directed to the director or to the supervisor on duty.
3. Where should I park if I am a student?
All students are required to park their vehicles in the parking lot reserved for students. This designated area is located north of the security booth, at the main gate. Students who park outside of this area are likely to have their vehicles ticketed and clamped.
4. Where do visitors to the campus park?
Upon entering the campus consult with the security officer for a temporary parking permit after which you will be directed to the parking area designated for visitors.
5. Why is it that I am not allowed to park along the upper section of the
campus?
Individuals without designated parking permits are not allowed to park along The Solomon Harriet Lecture Theatre, the Hiram S. Walters Resource Centre, or by the Cafeteria.
6. Why can’t I be allowed to park on the upper campus?
Due to the current lay-out of the upper campus it is extremely difficult for the delivery vehicles and other motorists to maneuver when excess vehicles are on the upper campus. Also, the administration is deeply concerned about the safety of its students and workers. Therefore, by limiting the number of vehicles that are allowed on the upper campus the risk of congestion and mishap occurring will be minimized, thereby, making it safer for everyone.
7. If I am driving a vehicle without the proper NCU parking permit can I park on the campus?
All workers and students are asked to display their ID when entering the campus." In addition, current students and workers should have a decal attached to the windscreen of the vehicles.
8. Are vehicles allowed to remain overnight on the campus?
Unauthorized vehicles (vehicles belonging to workers, students and visitors) are not to be left over-night on the main campus and extension sites. The university reserves the right to have such vehicles towed.
